The Corps of Drums Society has created a new resources page on our website. It includes information about our music books, the Lord Mayor’s Show music list and a brand new feature called Downloads.
The Downloads page contains information shared between the Society and the Fife and Drum Museum of Northern Ireland and the Yorkshire Corps of Drums.
Please take a look here.
We hope you enjoy it.
The Romford Drum & Trumpet Corps have been in touch looking for training assistance. They are looking for someone who could instruct them in the style of Royal Marines Drummers. They are based in the London/Essex borders area. Please drop me a line on email@example.com if you are able to assist and I will put you in touch with their current Bandmaster. The RDTC founder, the late Dick Bouchard, was a member of the Society for many years and is fondly remembered by many.
This member request comes from Robin Ridewood.
Robin is a collector of British Army badges worn on drum slings and/or music card cases. For example, the Queen’s Regiment used to have a badge on the drum sling and the Essex Regiment had a 3″ brass version of the Salamanca Eagle which was worn on both pouches and slings by Bandsmen and Drummers respectively.
If anyone has any information to help Robin in his quest to find out more could you please e mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org so I can put you in touch?
